Tour Itinerary in Detail
Meeting at Citadines Namba Osaka at 8:30, the group explored Osaka until the tour ended at 15:30. The day ran to 7 hours from start to finish. It included lunch at Sushiro Tennoji Apollo branch at 12:30.
The itinerary covered Osaka Castle at 9:00, Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine at 11:20 and Shitennoji Temple at 13:50.
What's a Private Osaka Day Tour Like for Guests Using Wheelchairs? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today I guided a group visiting from North America. I had been informed in advance that a wheelchair would be used, but I was surprised to find that they brought two wheelchairs — one electric wheelchair and one manual wheelchair. Fortunately both could be folded and fit into the trunk of the car, so there was no problem, but I realized the importance of confirming in advance how many wheelchairs guests will be bringing. At Osaka Castle, staff gave priority accommodations to guests using wheelchairs, and since we arrived early in the morning, there were relatively few people, so the group could relax and enjoy the visit at a leisurely pace. At Sumiyoshi Taisha, although there were gravel paths, I was able to guide them through the main highlights. They seemed very satisfied with the lunch they had requested at a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant. After that, we went to Shitennoji Temple. The steps to the Main Hall (Kondo) were too steep to enter, so we had to give that up, but I was able to guide them through the rest. I believe they enjoyed the day.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
