What's a Private Osaka Day Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests arrived in Osaka by cruise ship the day before the tour, having traveled via Kushiro and Aomori. It turned out that Shitennoji Temple and Harukas, which had originally been planned, had already been visited on a group tour from the cruise ship the previous day, so the itinerary was changed to a relaxed route around Osaka Castle and Dotonbori to match their wishes. It rained all day, sometimes heavily, but the guests, who love nature, did not mind at all and spent a fulfilling time asking many enthusiastic questions about Japanese history and customs. Since there was some extra time, on the way to the hotel I guided them through the floor of regional products from various prefectures at KITTE, and the tour ended at the hotel.
A notable stop on the tour was Osaka Castle. Osaka Castle is one of Japan's most famous landmarks, originally built in the late 16th century by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a powerful figure who helped unify Japan. The castle is known for its impressive main tower, massive stone walls, and surrounding moats, and the grounds include a spacious park that is especially popular during the cherry blossom season. Today the main tower houses a museum with exhibits about the castle's history and the era in which it was built, and its upper floors offer sweeping views of the surrounding city.

Sachiko was our tour guide and she is one of the best we have had. Not only did she show us Osaka in the rain, she went above and stayed with us 45 minutes past the tour time to make sure she brought us back to our hotel and taught us the trains to take and the restaurants around. We highly appreciate her.

I enjoyed seeing Osaka through Sachiko’s eyes and experience. She showed me what was special about Osaka, answered my numerous questions about life in this city and in Japan. The tour was long enough to see the city and although it rained throughout the day, I had a very nice time. I would recommend Sachiko and TripAdvisor to friends

Sachiko or Choko Ogura is a fantastic guide who not only explained the importance but also the backgrounds and histories in details of the locations we visited.
She is extremely proficient in English but is lovely lady with very helpful and pleasant nature. She guided us about what to do and what not to do.
