- 14:00 Meet at Hotel, departure ➡ On foot, Kuromon Market (14:10~14:40) ➡ By subway, Osaka Castle (15:00~16:10) ➡ By JR, Umeda Sky Building (16:40~17:10) ➡ By subway, Shinsaibashi & Dotonbori (17:30~18:00) ➡ Introduce a few restaurants, then disband (18:00)
Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kuromon Market and Beyond
The guests were visitors from Oceania. Their first day in Japan had been the day before an earthquake occurred in the Tokyo area (which they said had been frightening!), and they had already been in Japan for more than two weeks. Since their JAPAN RAIL PASS had expired the previous day, I assisted them in purchasing tickets to Tokyo for the following day at Osaka Station. At Kuromon Market, they remarked that it was even more wonderful than Nishiki Market in Kyoto, and they bought pears and other items to pack into their backpacks. They were strong walkers, and aside from the time spent sitting on trains and subways, they were on their feet the entire four hours. Fortunately, the weather was pleasant and stayed below 30°C, so they showed no signs of fatigue and remained energetic throughout. It was wonderful!
A notable stop on the tour was Kuromon Market in Osaka. Often called "Osaka's Kitchen," Kuromon Ichiba Market is a lively covered shopping street with a history stretching back roughly two centuries. It is famous for its fresh seafood, seasonal fruits, and a wide variety of street food, and many vendors grill or prepare their offerings on the spot so visitors can enjoy them while walking. The market remains a favorite destination for those wishing to experience Osaka's vibrant food culture firsthand.

Hello! I’m Emi (meaning “smile” or “laugh” in Japanese) , born, raised, and living in Osaka for more than half a century. I’ve been working as a government-licensed tour guide since 2018 after early retirement from a company. Lovely afternoon with English speaking Emiko Yamanaka. Very informative and knowledgeable about the history of the city. Visited the Torii shrine, sadly the other shrine had just closed, and walked through the Gion district. Emi also provided us with a map that she had made with the must see places, including which subway line and how many stops to take! Very useful for the next day trip. Would highly recommend Emi as your tour guide

We had a two day 6hr tour with our guide who took us around in Kyoto. It was a well balanced walking tour through historical sites, famous streets/neighbourhoods and local markets. We travelled very efficiently with a combination of taxis, trains and buses. Our guide Emi was very well prepared, with high flexibility, kindness and curiosity. She was a great value to the tour. I highly recommend this two day tour to visit Kyoto in a very efficient way.

We had a delightful day with our guide Emi. She designed a day around all the main spots that we wanted to visit at a comfortable pace. We learned a lot from her! And we couldn’t have done all that we did that day without her deep knowledge and experience. My niece said that it was the best day of our vacation!
