What's a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Shinsekai, and Dotonbori
The guests were a group from North America. Since they mentioned that they had enjoyed visiting the Sakai City Museum the previous day, I introduced how Oda Nobunaga purchased firearms from Sakai, and how warfare during the Warring States period shifted from cavalry battles to gun-based combat.
The elevator renovation at Osaka Castle had finally been completed, so from the observation floor (8F) I pointed out Abeno Harukas, and explained that the area over there was actually the site of the Summer Siege of Osaka, where the Tokugawa and Toyotomi forces fought.
For lunch, we enjoyed Osaka specialties in Shinsekai — okonomiyaki and kushikatsu.
After Dotonbori, the guests showed me a shop on their smartphone where they wanted to buy a kitchen knife. The shop was in Doguyasuji, and since I had been there before, I guided them to it, and the guests purchased a knife.
After the Umeda Sky Building, when we discussed dinner, I introduced Grand Front Osaka, explaining that both the South and North buildings have many restaurants on the 7th and 8th floors. I gave an explanation while looking at the panel in front of the South building, and then the tour concluded.

Great overview of the highlights of Kyoto with an excellent guide. Just beware that the
different sites may be located at different ends of the city so you will spend time on trains.
Also, in the summer a parasol is probably a good idea as it can get hot.

We booked a full day walking tour excursion from Osaka to Kyoto from our cruise ship. Hideo Yoshida met us promptly and escorted us all day from Osaka to visit 4 of Kyotos most famous sites.
He proved to be a true Japanese gentleman, very polite , very knowledgeable and knew the train system well. We must have changed at least 10 trains and it would have been impossible to navigate this without him. Also we had our most delicious sushi and sashimi lunch in Japan in a restaurant he recommended.
Thank you Hideo for providing us a wonderful insight in Kyotos history.

We had a very good private tour with Hide Yoshi – he made a good plan for us and whisked us around Kyoto to the key sites very efficiently. He had good knowledge about the places we visited and had prepared materials and photos to show us. He really helped us to get the maximum out of our time in Kyoto and is a really nice person. Also took us for an excellent lunch! Highly recommended.
