Title: What's a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Umeda Sky Building, Shitennoji, and Osaka Castle

The guests were a group visiting from Europe. The places to visit were arranged in advance through email exchanges, resulting in the itinerary we followed on the day. During our correspondence, it became clear that walking long distances would be difficult for one of the guests, so we agreed in advance that we would use taxis as needed on the spot. As a result, the first destination (Umeda Sky Building) was close to the Hotel, so we walked there, but all subsequent travel was by taxi. Some consideration was also needed during the visits: at the Sky Building the tour was done using a wheelchair, at Shitennoji they managed to walk on their own, and at Osaka Castle they chose to skip climbing the main tower and waited instead at their own request. Overall, the guests were very curious, and there were constant questions throughout the tour. The topics ranged widely across Japanese history, culture, and modern Japanese society, and the guests listened attentively to my explanations, making it a truly pleasant and rewarding tour as a guide.

Hi, everyone! I’m Norifumi Kamon, a government registered guide interpreter. Please call me “Nori”, or “Kamon-san”.
Let me introdece myself. I was born on April 17th in 1952 in Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu island. I used to be an English teacher of Osaka Prefectural high school. When I retired from a teacher ten years ago, I decided to get a professional guide license. I wanted to play a role of the bridge between Japanese people and the people from all over the world as a second life of mine. After two years efforts, I finally got the guide license. Since then, I have guided several handreds of foreign people mainly in Kyoto and Nara for about five years except Corona Pandemic period. Almost all the tourists were deeply impressed by the beauty of nature, traditoin, culture, and art of Japan. I can surely help you enjoy and be satisfied with the sightseeing in Japan. And I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.
