Tour Itinerary in Detail
The tour started at 8:50 at @ Hotel Iroha and ended at 15:30. The day ran to 6 hours and 40 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch @ Daikobo at 12:00.
Over the course of the day the route took in Tour start at 9:00, Kegon Falls at 9:20, Utagahama P at 10:05, Ryuzu Falls at 10:25, Yu Falls at 10:40, Taiyuin at 13:40 and Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park at 14:35.
Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Nikko's Waterfalls and Temples? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting Japan, part of whom came from North America. Originally a waterfall in the opposite direction had been listed, but considering the efficiency of the tour, I suggested visiting the three major waterfalls in the same direction, which they kindly agreed to, so the route became the waterfalls of Oku-Nikko plus Taiyuin and Goyotei Memorial Park. They were a lovely group, deeply knowledgeable about Japanese culture and nature, and it was a day full of learning for me as well. The weather was fine, and under the gentle late-autumn skies with Mount Nantai lightly dusted with snow from the previous day, they enjoyed the scenery and nature.

I live in Tochigi Prefecture about 40 years and currently based in Utsunomiya, city near Nikko.
I’m a mother of two kids, and a beagle dog.
Also I’ve lived in Tennessee for 3 years until 2020.
I was always happy whenever introducing Japanese culture to local people while living in US.
Now I’m so excited to introduce you various attractions here in Japan.
I love traveling, nature, food, Kimono, tea ceremony, manga etc.

Excellent day with Yoko as our guide. We were able to cover a lot of the sites in Nikko providing information and history. Yoko guided us at a nice pace to allow us explore the sites and answer our questions. We also had lots of general conversations with Yoko during the day. Highly recommended tour of beautiful and historic Nikko!

Yoko was an amazing guide really fun to talk and knows a lot of local history she didn’t speak Spanish but that wasn’t a problem for us

Full Day trip from Tokyo- our guide, Yoko, gave excellent explanations on the difference between Shinto and Buddhist religions and their co-existence. Nikko is a Beautiful environment (even in winter), the structures were stunning. Yoko took us to a delicious restaurant- Taikō-bo. Quintessential japanese restaurant with local cuisine.
