- We had planned to see the Kofukuji National Treasure Museum, but it was temporarily closed, and since you seemed tired and expressed a wish to wrap up early, we disbanded earlier than scheduled.

Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Nara Focused on Architecture? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's guests were a group visiting from Asia. Two days earlier, they had lost a phone on the Shinkansen and had to travel to various places to deal with it, and the previous day they had done an 8-hour tour of Kyoto, so they seemed a little tired. They were not particularly interested in deer or Shinto, but were interested in architecture, so we first headed to Horyu-ji Temple. In contrast to the hustle and bustle of Kyoto, there were few tourists and a calm atmosphere, and the guests were able to enjoy the architecture and the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Afterward, they said they wanted to see antiques, and at an antique art shop in the Higashimuki shopping street, they purchased a number of pieces of Imari ware. We then visited the Great Buddha Hall of Todai-ji Temple. I believe the guests were satisfied.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kyoto Private Tour
Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
