What Is a Half-Day Private Nagoya Tour Like from Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They were staying in Kyoto for sightseeing and came from Kyoto to Nagoya by Shinkansen for a half-day guided tour before returning to Kyoto. Initially, the itinerary was planned to cover three sites: Nagoya Castle, Tokugawaen (a Japanese garden), and Oasis 21. However, from our prior communication, I sensed a strong interest in Japanese history and culture, so I proposed adding a visit to the Tokugawa Art Museum, which is located within the grounds of Tokugawaen. By moving smoothly between the sites, we were able to cover the entire itinerary including the Tokugawa Art Museum, and the guests were very pleased. Since I was told they would dine in Nagoya before returning to Kyoto, I introduced them to the restaurant area on the upper floors of the Takashimaya department store inside Nagoya Station, and then concluded the guided tour.
