Tour Itinerary
- 1. Meet @Nagoya Port Garden Pier 9:00
- 2. Move to Nagoya Castle and view the Hommaru Palace and the area around the castle tower 9:00-11:10・・Move to Nagoya Castle by subway
- 3. Lunch @Yabaton Kin no Shachi Yokocho Store 11:10-11:50・・Walk from the main gate of Nagoya Castle to the restaurant
- 4. Move to Oasis 21 and view the area around the Mirai Tower and the Oasis 21 shopping area 11:50-12:30・・Move to Oasis 21 by subway
- 5. Move to Arimatsu and view the Arimatsu Narumi Shibori Kaikan and the townscape along the old highway 12:30-14:20・・Move to Arimatsu by subway and Meitetsu
- 6. Return to Nagoya Port Garden Pier and disband 14:20-15:00・・Move to Nagoya Garden Pier by Meitetsu and subway
What Can You See on a Private Nagoya Tour to Arimatsu and Nagoya Castle? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from North America. During the pre-tour communication about the itinerary, the guests expressed a wish to see the Shibori Kaikan (Tie-Dyeing Museum) in Arimatsu, so I planned the day with an emphasis on visiting Arimatsu as the final site and then returning to Nagoya Port. The guests viewed the exhibits on the second floor of the Arimatsu Shibori Kaikan, watched a live demonstration of shibori tie-dyeing there, and received a careful explanation from the artisan, which delighted them greatly. Since the guests themselves create shibori craftwork, they showed a strong interest. They were also very pleased to see the magnificence of the Honmaru Palace at Nagoya Castle and to visit the museum within the castle grounds displaying the original wall paintings (designated as Important Cultural Properties) before restoration. They enjoyed the tour as a whole.

I highly recommend Todd! He was extremely knowledgeable and a great English speaker! In addition, he was so helpful even before the tour started. He kept us apprised of the weather, the amount of cash we would need for select spots, etc. He was great and this tour was really wonderful!
