Tour Itinerary
- 1. Meet @ Nagoya Port Garden Pier 11:00
- 2. Move to Nagoya Castle and view Honmaru Palace and the area around the castle keep 11:00-12:40・・Move to Nagoya Castle by subway
- 3. Move to the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, view the Textile Machinery Pavilion and Automobile Pavilion, and have lunch at the cafe inside 12:40-14:20・・Move to the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology by taxi
- 4. Move to Tokugawaen and view Tokugawaen (Japanese Garden) and the Tokugawa Art Museum 14:20-15:40・・Move to Tokugawaen by taxi
- 5. Move to Oasis 21 and view the shopping area 15:40-16:30・・Move to Oasis 21 by taxi
- 6. Return to Nagoya Port and disband 16:30-17:00・・Move to Nagoya Port by subway
What Can You See on a Private Day Tour of Nagoya? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from North America. I guided them through Nagoya Castle, the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, Tokugawaen Garden, and the Oasis 21 shopping area, in that order, introducing Edo-period culture, the textile machinery invented by Sakichi Toyoda during the Meiji and Taisho eras along with the corporate history of Toyota Motor, and the present-day central area of Nagoya. They enjoyed each of these sites. They also enjoyed a light lunch at the cafe inside the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology and drinks at a Taiwanese cafe in Oasis 21, so even while visiting many sites, they were able to enjoy a relaxed tour. At the Tokugawaen Garden and museum, I explained the etiquette of the tea room, and the guests were delighted, saying it would be very useful because they would have a tea ceremony experience at the next port of call on their cruise.

I highly recommend Todd! He was extremely knowledgeable and a great English speaker! In addition, he was so helpful even before the tour started. He kept us apprised of the weather, the amount of cash we would need for select spots, etc. He was great and this tour was really wonderful!
