Title: What Is a Basic Private Day Tour of Nagoya Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Body:
For this standard basic Nagoya tour, we visited Nagoya Castle, Sakae, and Atsuta Shrine. Because of the intense heat, the walking pace gradually slowed and there were frequent rest breaks. We had also hoped to visit Osu Kannon, but due to fatigue and the scorching weather, we decided to skip it.
As always, the guests were amazed by the lavish and gorgeous Honmaru Palace of Nagoya Castle.
I explained the history of Nagoya Castle: after Tokugawa Ieyasu established the Edo Shogunate, he ordered feudal lords from the western and northern regions to build the castle. Construction began in 1610 (Keicho 15), and for about 260 years it served as the residence of the Owari Tokugawa family. Nagoya Castle is a place connected to two great warlords, Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Nagoya Castle developed from Nagoya (Nagono) Castle, which Oda Nobunaga used as his residence in his childhood.
This basic private day tour of Nagoya was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures.

Yoko gave us a wonderful tour of the city. Although the Toyota museum was closed, he offered a very nice alternative samauri museum for us to visit. He also took us to a shrine and let us try a traditional Nagoya fried pork meal which was outstanding. Wonderful, wonderful day! Thank you, Yoko, for making our trip special!

If you are on a cruise, this is the excursion for you. Half the price of the same excursion that the ship offers, and iwe had a personalized experience instead of being in a large group off the ship. Our guide, Yoko, was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He allowed to pick our sites and then gave us lots of history during the tour. 10/10 recommend
