What Is a Private Day Tour from Osaka to Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and Arashiyama

Although the weather forecast had predicted cloudy skies and rain, we were blessed with fine weather, and the guests were very pleased. The walk from the Hotel to Yodoyabashi Station passes through what could be called the political heart of Osaka, so while walking to the station I explained various things about Osaka. On the Keihan train, I explained the details of the places we would visit and the itinerary for the day. The guests had really wanted to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, and were very happy to be going. They listened intently even to my modest explanations of Japanese history and geography, and seemed genuinely delighted that their visit to Japan, which had to be postponed due to the pandemic, had finally come true. They also greatly enjoyed lunch at a tonkatsu restaurant, and both of the guests had a second helping of miso soup, with one of them enjoying it so much that they also had a second serving of rice. As we parted, they thanked me, saying it had been a very meaningful and enjoyable day.

Hi! My name is YUKA. I’ve got the government license in 2018 and joined a half year traning to do the guide. But a half year later I started my carreer, Covid came. I should have given up guiding. During the Covid, I’ve read many books and made my own materials to explain Japanese culture, history, etc. I love guiding because the guests expand my horizon all the time and let me know their own country and culture, etc. It is really important for us all to know each other and respect each other to make this world peace. Thank you for coming to Japan! Let’s enjoy Japan together!
