From there the group visited pick you up at Osaka Port Terminal at 10:10, Osakako Sta. at 11:00, Kyoto Sta. at 11:30, Nijojo castle (entracne fee (1,300JPY/person) at 12:00, (leave) at 13:10, Kyoto Station at 13:45, Osaka Statiion at 14:15, Dotonbori at 14:40, Namba Station at 16:00 and Osakako station at 16:30.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Osaka Port to Bentencho by subway (240JPY); Bentencho to Kyoto by train (820JPY); Kyoto to Nijojo-mae by subway (260JPY); Nijojo-mae to Kyoto by subway (260JPY); Kyoto to Osaka by train (580JPY); Umeda to Namba by subway (240JPY); Namba to Osaka Port by subway (290JPY). Across 7 sections the fare came to 2,690JPY per person.
What Is a Private Kyoto and Osaka Day Tour Like for Cruise Guests? A Licensed Guide's Report
1. The guests were a group visiting Japan. Although the weather forecast called for heavy rain, fortunately it had stopped in the morning, so we traveled to Kyoto as planned and visited Nijo Castle.
2. After visiting Nijo Castle, we had planned to go to Arashiyama, but the rain became heavier and some of the guests' sneakers got soaked. At the guests' suggestion to return to the cruise ship, we headed back to Osaka.
3. When we arrived at Osaka Station the rain had stopped, so after consulting with the guests, I guided them around Dotonbori. The guests spotted a "2025" sign, and when I explained that the second Expo in Osaka would be held next year, they said they would love to visit Japan again next year during the cherry blossom season.

Great overview of the highlights of Kyoto with an excellent guide. Just beware that the
different sites may be located at different ends of the city so you will spend time on trains.
Also, in the summer a parasol is probably a good idea as it can get hot.

We booked a full day walking tour excursion from Osaka to Kyoto from our cruise ship. Hideo Yoshida met us promptly and escorted us all day from Osaka to visit 4 of Kyotos most famous sites.
He proved to be a true Japanese gentleman, very polite , very knowledgeable and knew the train system well. We must have changed at least 10 trains and it would have been impossible to navigate this without him. Also we had our most delicious sushi and sashimi lunch in Japan in a restaurant he recommended.
Thank you Hideo for providing us a wonderful insight in Kyotos history.

We had a very good private tour with Hide Yoshi – he made a good plan for us and whisked us around Kyoto to the key sites very efficiently. He had good knowledge about the places we visited and had prepared materials and photos to show us. He really helped us to get the maximum out of our time in Kyoto and is a really nice person. Also took us for an excellent lunch! Highly recommended.
