- 9:30 Meet @ Naka Pier Passenger Terminal
- 9:40-10:00 Move by taxi to Shin-Kobe Station
- 10:30-11:00 Shin-Kobe → Kyoto Nozomi No. 12 3,960 yen
- 11:17-11:24 Kyoto → Nijo JR 180 yen
- 11:40-11:50 Shinsen-en sightseeing
- 12:00-13:30 Nijo Castle sightseeing
- 13:38-13:44 Nijojo-mae → Uzumasa Tenjingawa Subway 260 yen
- 13:53-14:07 Uzumasa Tenjingawa → Arashiyama Keifuku 250 yen
- 14:10-15:00 Arashiyama sightseeing (Tenryu-ji, Bamboo Grove Path, Kimono Forest, etc.)
- 15:10-15:30 Move by taxi
- 15:30-16:20 Kinkaku-ji sightseeing
- 16:25-16:45 Move by taxi
- 17:02-17:29 Kyoto → Shin-Kobe Nozomi No. 75 3,960 yen
- 17:40 Disband @ Shin-Kobe Station (put only the customers in a taxi)
The guests were visitors from Oceania. Since there was concern about long-distance travel and walking, we traveled by bullet train both ways. We visited Nijo Castle, the Arashiyama area, and Kinkaku-ji Temple. I explained the transition from the Tokugawa shogunate to the Meiji Restoration, the modernization before and after the war, the Muromachi shogunate, the class system, and the differences between Shinto and Buddhism, and the guests listened with great interest. We were blessed with very fine weather, and since we used a taxi partway through, we were able to get around without any trouble. Toward the end, we moved up the scheduled bullet train time and returned to Kobe.

Andy(Atsushi) was great and communicated with us beforehand about our itinerary. He was flexible with changes we requested. Andy was very informative during the tour. He also was willing to take our family’s pictures. We were able to stop and check out shops as we pleased along the way. He also accommodated lunch requests(as our daughter has food allergies).
One thing I wish we realized was that there is quite a bit of walking. We were fine but for people who are perhaps older or with young children you may want to consider taking a cab between different sites.

Andy Murao was an amazing and wonderful tour guide. He reached out to us with some ideas for our private tour. He worked with us as we made the tour perfectly suited to our needs. He met us on time. He navigated the crowds and the sites perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. He even put together a nice photo collection of photos he emailed us after. Highly recommend.
