What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visiting Japan for the first time and staying for an extended trip. Since it was their first visit to Japan, they left the route up to me, so I chose the itinerary above with accessibility in mind and proceeded with the tour as planned. They seemed interested in Japanese crafts, and along the approach to Kiyomizu they purchased a folding fan, a teacup, and a gourd, and enjoyed eating nama-yatsuhashi, which they found delicious. At each destination they took many photos, but they were especially moved by the statues at Sanjusangen-do, letting out sounds of admiration. At Fushimi Inari, we happened to encounter a ceremony conducted by several Shinto priests. In Gion, there was a question about whether geisha were an entertainment show, so I explained that although the number of geisha has decreased considerably, it is a traditional profession that has been passed down, in which trained performers present classical dance.
