- 9:13-9:29 Shijo Nishinotoin→Kiyomizu-michi Bus 230 yen
- 9:45-11:30 Kiyomizu-dera Temple sightseeing
- 11:40-12:30 Yasaka Pagoda, Sannei-zaka, Yasaka Shrine sightseeing
- 12:40-13:40 Ramen Kyo
- 14:00- 14:40 Kodai-ji Temple sightseeing
- 15:00-Higashiyama Yasui→Kyoto Station Bus 230 yen
- 15:30 Disband @Kyoto Station
Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Kyoto's Higashiyama Area Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from North America. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) arranged this private one-day tour of Kyoto's Higashiyama area. After meeting at the hotel at 9:00, we took a bus to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. At Sannenzaka, while confirming the venue for a tea ceremony planned for the following day, we noticed that the reservation date had mistakenly been set for today, so the guests had it changed to the next day. We had lunch at a ramen restaurant in Gion, and although the original plan was to visit Ginkaku-ji Temple afterward, the guests were a little tired, so we visited the nearby Kodai-ji Temple instead. After that, we went to Kyoto Station, where I assisted with purchasing Shinkansen tickets at the ticket office, and the tour concluded.

Andy(Atsushi) was great and communicated with us beforehand about our itinerary. He was flexible with changes we requested. Andy was very informative during the tour. He also was willing to take our family’s pictures. We were able to stop and check out shops as we pleased along the way. He also accommodated lunch requests(as our daughter has food allergies).
One thing I wish we realized was that there is quite a bit of walking. We were fine but for people who are perhaps older or with young children you may want to consider taking a cab between different sites.

Andy Murao was an amazing and wonderful tour guide. He reached out to us with some ideas for our private tour. He worked with us as we made the tour perfectly suited to our needs. He met us on time. He navigated the crowds and the sites perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. He even put together a nice photo collection of photos he emailed us after. Highly recommend.
