What Is a Private Kyoto Tour with a Licensed Guide Like? A Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from Asia who had spent many years living abroad before more recently returning to Asia. They had studied Japanese culture and history well and already understood most of the basics, so what they needed were short, pointed, and concise additional explanations. Even so, June is the time of the summer purification ritual (Nagoshi no Harae) at various shrines, and the grounds were decorated with chinowa (grass rings). This was something they did not have prior knowledge of, and they listened with great interest to my lengthy explanation. For tonight, they had reserved Kobe beef at a Gion restaurant that I recommended. I hope they enjoy it.

Our guide in Kyoto was Kazu. By the end of the day, we felt like we had made a new friend.
Kazu helped us arrange the best day with our short time in Kyoto. He brought us to some “hidden gems” and gave us thorough explanations on history and culture.

Our tour guide Kazu was very knowledgeable in terms of the history and explaining many of
the wonderful ancient sites around Kyoto. Definitely a must! Otherwise, I think it would be
difficult to tourists to understand on their own.
