What Can You See on a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour from Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's tour was for guests visiting Japan from North America. After spending time in Tokyo, they arrived in Kyoto this morning. We visited Ninna-ji and Ryoan-ji, which they had requested, and since neither was very crowded, they were able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I then recommended and took them to the popular Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion), and they appeared very satisfied. After that, in the early evening, we walked along the Kamo River, through Pontocho Street, and along Hanami-koji in Gion, and we were very lucky that a geiko happened to walk right in front of us. Gion at dusk was truly beautiful, and I believe the guests were very pleased.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April!
