Title: What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour with a Licensed Guide Like? A Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from North America. I had initially been told there would be a certain number of guests, but I was informed that one person would not be joining. Since this information came only after we met, I quickly changed the reservation number at the restaurant.

It was a very hot day, so I proceeded with the tour while carefully looking after the well-being of one member of the group. At Nijo Castle, this person waited partway rather than climbing up to the former keep, and in the afternoon, when it became especially hot, waited in the waiting room at the Imperial Palace.

What I felt sorry about for everyone was not only the heat but also that the buses during our transfers were more crowded than usual, which I think made things uncomfortable. Fortunately, I was able to arrange a seat for the member who needed it.

Some of the guests said Kinkaku-ji was their favorite, one preferred Nijo Castle, and another liked the Kyoto Imperial Palace best.
