Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kiyomizu-dera and Eikan-do

The guests visited Japan from Asia. This was their fifth trip to Japan, but their first time in Kyoto. On this trip, they were traveling through Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Kobe over about two weeks. Before the tour began, I had wondered whether the slopes leading up to Kiyomizu-dera might be difficult, but the guests were very composed, and although we went slowly, there was no fussing or complaining at all, so there were no problems. The guests did not do any unnecessary shopping, so there were no requests to buy things. It was fortunate that the tour started at 8:00, when Kiyomizu-dera was still uncrowded. The weather forecast for the day predicted rain all day, with especially heavy rain in the afternoon, so I had been quite worried, but we were blessed with good weather, with only light rain and occasional glimpses of sunshine. It had been several months since I last visited Eikan-do, and I noticed how many "Do not sit down" signs there were. It seems many foreign visitors sit down to rest in the corridors or take photos there. I saw the guests off at Kyoto Station, ending the tour. The photo was taken in the garden of Eikan-do.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.
