What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for Visitors Interested in Culture and History? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visitors to Japan from North America. This was their second visit to Japan, and they were fans of the country. It was their first time in Kyoto, and they were looking forward to experiencing its culture and history. One of the guests, who loves flowers, thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the Zen temple and the strolling-style garden at Tenryu-ji. They were also delighted by the charm of the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. At Okochi Sanso Villa, they took photographs from the observation deck offering a panoramic view of Kyoto City. Even at the crowded Kinkaku-ji, they smiled at the sight of the golden temple pavilion. They also listened attentively to my explanations about Buddhism, Shinto, history, and background.
