- 9:00 Meet at Kyoto Station→JR Saga-Arashiyama Station→Tenryu-ji Temple→9:50 Bamboo Grove→10:40 Togetsukyo Bridge→11:00 Lunch @ Ramen Arashiyama Chikurintei→11:50 Randen Arashiyama Station→Omuro-Ninnaji Station→12:20 Ninna-ji Temple→13:20 Ryoan-ji Temple→14:10 Kinkaku-ji Temple (Finish at 15:00)
What Can You See on a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report
When we communicated beforehand, the request was that the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Ryoan-ji, and Kinkaku-ji were must-sees, and that they wanted to visit as many places as efficiently as possible, so I proposed the above route, which they found very appealing. In fact, it was an itinerary of over 20,000 steps, and toward the end they appeared quite tired, but at the time of parting they gave me very heartfelt words of thanks.
For lunch, I planned to arrive and enter right after opening, timing it so that there was no need to wait in line. Regarding the ramen, they praised it highly as having the best broth they had ever tasted, and they gave me compliments as well.
The questions covered a wide range of topics. Since a high school student was among the guests, Japan's education system and education costs also came up as a subject of conversation. Because we visited several Zen temples, there were also questions about the significance of Zen and the differences between the various schools of Buddhism.
Some of the guests had come to Tokyo many times but were visiting Kyoto for the first time, and they recognized the differences in atmosphere and environment between Tokyo and Kyoto. It seems this tour became a very memorable experience for them.

Ich habe eine wundervolle private Tour mit Nabet am Abend gehabt. Wir waren unter anderem im Viertel der Geiko und Maiko sowie am Fushimi-Inari Schrein. Ich habe viel über die Stadt Kyoto erfahren sowie die Religionen des Shinotismus und des Buddhismus. Nabet hatte viel Wissen und hat es mit Freude geteilt. Eine wirklich tolle Tour und ein schönes Erlebnis!

We had an amazing experience with Nabet as our tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions thoughtfully. From the beginning, he was on time, organized, and made sure to ask which locations we wanted to visit so he could tailor the tour to our interests since we were only in Kyoto for a day.
Nabet was also very friendly, engaging, and easy to talk to, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We learned so much throughout the tour thanks to his clear explanations and insights. Everything ran smoothly and right on schedule.
He gave us the best recommendation for dinner after the tour as well.
We highly recommend Nabet as he’s a fantastic guide who made our day truly memorable!

Nabet is an excellent guide. He explained Japanese history and customs clearly and comprehensively, including pointing out behaviour considered disrespectfu.
He was energetic and enthusiastic despite the humidity, long walks up hills and steps and crowded conditions, and was very patient dealing with the public transport ticketing systems. I recommend him wholeheartedly.
