- ⑥ 14:30 Lunch and stroll at Nishiki Market
- ⑦ 15:00 Gion stroll (Tatsumi Bridge, Shinmachi, Chugen-ji Temple)
- ⑧ 16:00 Disband at Gion-Shijo
What Is a First-Time Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from North America, and since this was their first time in Kyoto, I guided them along a classic itinerary. A route like today's allows me to explain a wide range of Japanese culture, including history, Zen Buddhism, the tea ceremony, geiko, and maiko, so I feel it is a good itinerary for getting to know Japan and Kyoto. Today's guests already had a certain amount of background knowledge, so they seemed to understand my explanations without any difficulty. As there were not many questions or reactions from the guests, it was a little hard to tell how much they had understood.

Kazu gave detailed explanations about the areas we visited and we appreciated all that he had to offer at each of our stops.

Our guide in Kyoto was Kazu. By the end of the day, we felt like we had made a new friend.
Kazu helped us arrange the best day with our short time in Kyoto. He brought us to some “hidden gems” and gave us thorough explanations on history and culture.

Our tour guide Kazu was very knowledgeable in terms of the history and explaining many of
the wonderful ancient sites around Kyoto. Definitely a must! Otherwise, I think it would be
difficult to tourists to understand on their own.
