- 10:15 Meet @ JR Kyoto Station 7-Eleven
- 10:30-10:35 Kyoto→Inari JR 150 yen
- 10:40-11:40 Fushimi Inari Taisha sightseeing
- 11:53-12:19 Inari→Saga-Arashiyama JR 240 yen
- 12:40-13:30 Lunch @ Gyatei
- 13:40-14:30 Kimono Forest, Tenryu-ji, and Bamboo Grove Path sightseeing
- 14:40-14:45 Saga-Arashiyama→Enmachi JR 190 yen
- 14:52-15:00 Nishinokyo-Enmachi→Kinkaku-ji-michi Bus 230 yen
- 15:10-15:50 Kinkaku-ji sightseeing
- 15:55-16:15 Travel by taxi
- 16:20-16:55 Gion area sightseeing (Kagai Museum, etc.)
- 17:00 Disband @ north side of Hanamikoji (put customers in a taxi)
What Can You See on a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour by Cruise Ship Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from Europe. Since they arrived by cruise ship, we met at Kyoto Station and headed straight to Fushimi Inari Shrine. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) is one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures.
For lunch, we went to a restaurant, where the guests enjoyed each dish while checking the English menu one by one.
After lunch, we visited the Kimono Forest, Tenryu-ji Temple, and the bamboo grove. We then made our way to Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion.
The guests wanted to stroll around the Gion area, so we took a taxi to Hanamikoji Street, where we walked through the streets and visited the geisha district museum.
The guests listened with great interest to explanations about the differences between shrines and temples, the relationship between the emperor and the shogun, and stories about geiko and maiko.

Andy(Atsushi) was great and communicated with us beforehand about our itinerary. He was flexible with changes we requested. Andy was very informative during the tour. He also was willing to take our family’s pictures. We were able to stop and check out shops as we pleased along the way. He also accommodated lunch requests(as our daughter has food allergies).
One thing I wish we realized was that there is quite a bit of walking. We were fine but for people who are perhaps older or with young children you may want to consider taking a cab between different sites.

Andy Murao was an amazing and wonderful tour guide. He reached out to us with some ideas for our private tour. He worked with us as we made the tour perfectly suited to our needs. He met us on time. He navigated the crowds and the sites perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. He even put together a nice photo collection of photos he emailed us after. Highly recommend.
