What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Family Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from North America. Since one of the guests had trouble with their knees, at Ryoanji Temple the driver was able to bring the car close to the entrance, which was very helpful. We had originally planned to start at Ginkakuji Temple, but because it was raining and one of the guests had difficulty walking, we changed the plan on the spot to Sanjusangendo Temple. At Nijo Castle we introduced the Ninomaru Palace and the garden, then headed to Kinkakuji Temple, where one of the guests waited in the car; since the driver could speak English, they were able to stay in the car with peace of mind. At Kinkakuji we bought some bean snacks and ate them in the car, and at Ryoanji the driver brought the car close to the entrance so that everyone could tour Ryoanji together. For lunch I took them to a Kura Sushi near Kinkakuji. Although some of the guests did not particularly like sushi, they were very pleased, and after playing games in the car we finished at the Pokemon Center. One of the guests wished to return to the Hotel, and since the driver offered to take them, I left that to the driver.
