Over the course of the day the route took in Fushimi Inari Taisha at 13:00, Nijo Castle at 14:14, Ninna-ji Temple at 15:30, Kinkaku-ji Temple at 16:30 and Gion at 18:00.
What Does a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Nijo Castle, and Kinkakuji
Since we met on time, the tour proceeded almost entirely as planned. The guests were a group visiting from North America. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, unusually, no one was lined up at the Omokaru-ishi (heavy-light stone), so I had them try it. We also visited the Neagari-no-Matsu pine, and they were delighted by the idea that it brings rising fortunes, such as stock prices going up. They also experienced passing through the Chinowa ring of reeds. At Nijo Castle, the guests took an interest in the shogun and were able to see the Japanese garden. At Ninna-ji, there were no cars in the parking lot and no other visitors, and just as the guests were pleased about that, we found the south garden was under repair and could not be viewed. At Kinkakuji as well, there were unusually few visitors, so we moved through smoothly and left right at 5:00. Thanks to the driver's kindness, we were also taken to Gion Shirakawa, where we were able to take photos.

Harumi was a fantastic guide – very friendly and very knowledgeable. Even weeks before the tour, her communication was outstanding, asking me what we would be interested in seeing, ages and interests of the members in our party, and laying out a thoughtful and perfect itinerary for our day. Her knowledge made our visit to Himeji Castle way more interesting and engaging than if we had just gone by ourselves. We would definitely book again!

Amazing guided experience
Harumi is an amazing guide. Knows everything about the sites she takes you to. She is excellent with kids and even brought them oregami and treats. The heat was a bit oppressive and we were so glad we paid for the driver with a large and clean air conditioned van. Harumi, the guide, was a true professional. She devised a very good itinerary and was also flexible when the kids were hungry, etc. Would highly recommend.
