Title: What's a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group from North America, some of whom were visiting Japan for the first time. Although the tour took place in June, it was extremely hot, so I believe traveling by car helped a little. I took the group to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Nijo Castle, and Kinkaku-ji Temple. Some of the guests said they liked Kiyomizu-dera best, some preferred Nijo Castle, and others enjoyed Kinkaku-ji the most. The cooling neck towels I had prepared as a heat countermeasure were well received. When planning the tour, there was also a request to visit Fushimi Inari, but as it was not possible within the time available, they decided to visit it on their own after the tour. During lunch, I explained the historical background of Fushimi Inari and the key points to see there, then saw the group off at Keihan Sanjo Station near the hotel, from where they could visit on their own. Despite the heat, I believe they enjoyed themselves.
