Title: What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Arashiyama

The guests were a group visiting from North America. One of the guests spoke both Japanese and English fluently, having left Japan and lived overseas.

We started after reconfirming the five places they had told me in advance that they wanted to visit.

At Fushimi Inari Taisha, each of the guests tried the Omokaru-ishi (lifting stone). They also purchased three torii-shaped ema plaques at the shrine office.

At Kiyomizu-dera, some of the guests lined up to drink the water at Otowa Waterfall, and I photographed the moment they drank the water. After exploring Kiyomizu-dera, they enjoyed some street food at the shops along the approach.

Since we were running behind schedule, we skipped the Ninomaru Garden at Nijo Castle.

We stopped briefly at Kitano Tenmangu to see the plum blossoms in full bloom, then headed to Kinkaku-ji.

While guiding the group through Nonomiya Shrine at the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, some of the guests offered prayers for blessings related to children.

After strolling through the bamboo grove, I saw the guests off to their accommodation and we parted ways. The extension fee was paid for both the driver and the guide.

The morning was a little chilly, but the weather was fine throughout the day, making it a perfect day for sightseeing.
