The tour started at 9:00 at Hyatt Place Kyoto and ended at 15:10. The day ran to 6 hours and 10 minutes from start to finish.
Over the course of the day the route took in Kinkaku-ji Temple at 9:20, Nijo Castle at 10:40, Ukiya Pontocho Main Store at 12:15, Gion Tatsumi Bridge (drive through Hanamikoji Street) at 13:00 and Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine at 13:30.
What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kinkaku-ji, Nijo Castle, and Fushimi Inari
Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. They were traveling through several destinations including Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Tokyo. It was a warm, cloudless, and windless day, making it perfect for the tour. Everywhere was relatively uncrowded, so we were able to take our time. Because there was no wind, Kinkaku-ji was beautifully reflected in the pond. I was also able to explain Nijo Castle at a relaxed pace. Lunch was very well received by the guests as well. Neither Tatsumi Bridge nor Fushimi Inari Taisha was very crowded, so we could take photos at our leisure. I believe the guests enjoyed themselves.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kyoto Private Tour
Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
