Over the course of the day the route took in Dusit thani Kyoto at 10:00, Arashiyama at 10:40, Monkey Park at 11:30, Bamboo forest at 12:30, Ryoanji at 13:10, Kinkakuji at 14:40, Yasaka koshindo at 16:00 and Kiyomizudera at 16:30.

The guests came from North America. At 8:44 on the day of the tour, an email arrived asking to change the meeting time to 10:00, so I contacted the driver right away and we started 30 minutes earlier than originally planned. Since the choice of destinations had been left up to me, I had sent a tentative itinerary, but the guests expressed a wish to visit the Monkey Park, so I adjusted the itinerary accordingly. It still felt a bit early for the autumn foliage, but as it was the final day of a long weekend, everywhere was very crowded. Finally I guided them to Kiyomizu-dera, and since we had run about 40 minutes over time, I took them to the admission ticket counter and we parted ways there. It was a wonderful clear autumn day throughout, and the guests enjoyed the Kyoto tour. They did not shop much, but they purchased warabi mochi at Kinkaku-ji and furikake at a shop on Sannenzaka.
