The itinerary covered Kyoto Station at 9:30, Fushimi Inari Taisha at 10:00, Nijo Castle at 11:30, Kinkaku-ji at 12:30, Bamboo Grove Path, Tenryu-ji at 14:30 and Nishiki Market at 14:00.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Kyoto to Inari by train (150JPY); Fushimi Inari to Sanjo (Kyoto Prefecture) by train (240JPY); Sanjo Keihan to Nijojo-mae by subway (220JPY); Arashiyama (Keifuku Line) to Omiya (Kyoto Prefecture) by train (250JPY); Shijo Omiya (Highway by train (170JPY). Across 5 sections the fare came to 1,030JPY per person.

The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had a very quiet and calm demeanor. I took them to Fushimi Inari Taisha, where they experienced the Omokaru-ishi stones and the Negiagari-no-Matsu pine. They seemed to enjoy it very much and bought a torii gate votive plaque as an ornament for their Christmas tree. We moved by train to Nijo Castle and toured it quickly, then took a taxi to Kinkaku-ji. They sampled items such as sweets and peanuts and bought wasabi peanuts. After enjoying some ice cream, time passed quickly, so we hurried to a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, then took a taxi to the Bamboo Grove path. At Tenryu-ji, many flowers were in bloom, so they took many photos. We then took the Randen tram and the Hankyu line to Nishiki Market, where we concluded the tour.

Harumi was a fantastic guide – very friendly and very knowledgeable. Even weeks before the tour, her communication was outstanding, asking me what we would be interested in seeing, ages and interests of the members in our party, and laying out a thoughtful and perfect itinerary for our day. Her knowledge made our visit to Himeji Castle way more interesting and engaging than if we had just gone by ourselves. We would definitely book again!

Amazing guided experience
Harumi is an amazing guide. Knows everything about the sites she takes you to. She is excellent with kids and even brought them oregami and treats. The heat was a bit oppressive and we were so glad we paid for the driver with a large and clean air conditioned van. Harumi, the guide, was a true professional. She devised a very good itinerary and was also flexible when the kids were hungry, etc. Would highly recommend.
