What Is a 4-Hour Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today I guided guests visiting from North America. Although rain was in the forecast, it was not raining in Arashiyama, and the guests enjoyed cherry blossoms in full bloom and a bamboo grove that looked especially beautiful with the fresh green after the rain. It was relatively uncrowded today, so the guests were very pleased. They were very surprised to learn that cherry blossoms only bloom for about two weeks. Afterward we went to Kinkaku-ji, which was very crowded, and the rain suddenly grew heavier, so we walked around quickly. Even so, the guests were very happy to see the beautiful Golden Pavilion. As this was a 4-hour tour, I briefly explained about Fushimi Inari, and since time had passed, we parted at the platform for the Inari direction at Kyoto Station. I believe the guests enjoyed themselves.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
