Tour Itinerary

Tour Itinerary in Detail

The tour started at 9:00 at Hotel Kyoto and ended at 12:20. The day ran to 3 hours and 20 minutes from start to finish.

Over the course of the day the route took in Nijo Castle at 9:20 and Kinkaku-ji at 11:10.

Travel between the sites was by public transport: Karasuma Oike to Nijo Castle by subway (220JPY); Nijojo-mae to Kinkakuji-michi by bus (230JPY). Across 2 sections the fare came to 450JPY per person.

The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They had enjoyed skiing earlier in their trip. Since it was the cold season, there were fewer tourists, so we were able to take our time sightseeing at a relaxed pace. The group was very lively and full of energy throughout the tour. As they were interested in Japanese history, I made an effort to explain things at Nijo Castle and Kinkaku-ji as clearly and carefully as possible. As the group started to grow tired, we decided to wrap up the tour a little earlier than planned and return to the hotel. I believe they enjoyed themselves.
