- 14:40~15:40 Yasaka Shrine – Shorenin Monzeki
- 15:50~16:40 Chionin – Maruyama Park – Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka – Yasaka Pagoda – Dismissal
What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like in Autumn? A Licensed Guide's Report
This was a private tour in Kyoto for a group of guests visiting from North America. Although it started raining in the afternoon, the group energetically explored Kiyamachi, Pontocho, the Gion Festival Gallery, Yasaka Shrine, Shorenin, Chionin, and more. At the Gion Festival Gallery in particular, they were amazed by the size of the festival floats. At Shorenin, they admired the Japanese garden in the quiet stillness, taking in the autumn foliage and the pond, and appreciating the Japanese sense of wabi-sabi. They also wrote their wishes on goma prayer sticks and put their hands together in prayer. Finally, each of them rang the bell at the bell tower while making a wish. Shorenin seemed to leave a very strong impression on them. After that, the rain grew heavier, but we continued from Maruyama Park to the Yasaka Pagoda, where the tour concluded.

We had a wonderful tour around Osaka. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information about the places we visited. He was also very friendly and approachable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The length of the tour was just right for us—especially on such a hot day—and we still managed to find time to take some great photos.
