Title: What's a Walking-Focused Private Day Tour of Kochi City Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Itinerary of the Day 8:30 Welcomed the guests at Kochi Shinko Port. The weather was sunny and comfortable, around 22°C.

9:00–9:45 Chikurin-ji Temple (strolled through the five-story pagoda, main hall, and garden) → The guests were moved by the tranquil atmosphere and took many photos.

10:00–10:30 Yokoyama Ryuichi Memorial Manga Museum (toured with English explanations) → The guests were very interested in the exhibits, showing particular interest in "Fuku-chan."

10:45–11:15 Harimaya Bridge to Obiyamachi Arcade → The guests enjoyed the local streets and purchased some souvenirs.

11:30–12:30 Kochi Castle → The guests climbed the keep and were impressed by the view over the castle town. They were also interested in the statue of Itagaki Taisuke and the stonework markings.

13:00–14:00 Lunch (at a Japanese restaurant near the sightseeing area, with a private tatami room featuring a sunken kotatsu) → In keeping with the request for a tatami room, the guests were very pleased.

Guests' Reactions and Impressions Since the guests had requested a walking-focused route, I intentionally minimized travel by car and designed a course that allowed them to experience the atmosphere of the town center.

The guests gave positive feedback, saying, "Walking really helped us understand the atmosphere of the town," and "It was fascinating to hear detailed stories, such as about Yosakoi, that only a local guide would know."

The guests were very pleased with the lunch in the private tatami room. However, one point for reflection is that the seared bonito (katsuo no tataki) provided was oriented toward tourists, and as a local I felt it was somewhat lacking.

📝 Special Notes Along the way, I guided the guests while taking frequent breaks in shaded areas and on benches.

Lunch was reserved in advance, with no allergies to accommodate.

After the tour, I shared a link to a photo album. The guests kindly gave permission for posting on social media.
