Title: What Is a Private Kobe Tour Like with a Licensed Guide? A Japan Guide Agency Report
The guests for this tour were visitors from North America. We had planned to meet at 10:00 in front of the ticket gates at Shin-Kobe Station. However, since the guests were already at Shin-Kobe Station, we started the tour a little earlier than scheduled.
Today was planned as a 6-hour Kobe tour, and I had prepared an itinerary for it. However, the guests said, "We arrived in Japan in May and visited many places, including Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto. We are also going to Hiroshima and Beppu. We are feeling tired, so today we would like to visit only the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum and the Kobe Port Earthquake Memorial Park."
For this reason, we took a taxi to visit and tour the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum, and afterward we went to Meriken Park by train and on foot to see the earthquake memorial park. The guests then requested to end the tour there. I had planned to see them off at Shin-Kobe Station, but the guests said, "We're fine. We managed to get on the right train even in Shinjuku," so we ended the tour there. It was a relaxed and easygoing tour.

Our delightful guide, Norio, was knowledgeable and a master at train negotiation! A highlight of the tour was the Herb Garden and Ropeway visit. The Sake Brewery and Museum was interesting with fabulous explanation from Norio combined with outstanding exhibits and tastings! He then left us to wander at our leisure in Chinatown.

We learnt lots about Himeji castle and it was very interesting. The gardens were beautiful and it was great to see all the Koi fish. Norio made sure to take us to the best places and even took us to a great local sake place we asked for 🙂
