Over the course of the day the route took in Hamafukutsuru Museum at 13:40, Kobe Herb Garden at 15:30 and Kobe Beef Restaurant, dismissal at 17:30.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Motomachi (Hyogo Prefecture) to Uozaki by train (250JPY); Uozaki to Sannomiya by train (200JPY); Subway Sannomiya Station by bus (300JPY). Across 3 sections the fare came to 750JPY per person.
What's a Private Nature and Kobe Beef Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group from Asia who love Japan and have visited the country several times before. Since there were no specific requests in advance, I planned an itinerary so they could enjoy both the sea and the mountains. At a sake brewery museum, they enjoyed tasting sake and trying sake ice cream, and at an herb garden they were very taken with the view from the mountaintop. As the hydrangeas and roses were at their best, we took a slightly longer stroll. Since we walked quite a long distance, I imagine they were tired. At the end, they expressed a wish to have Kobe beef, so I took them to a popular Kobe beef restaurant located close to their accommodation.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience. You are the best Chiyuki – grateful for your hospitality and gracious hosting.
