What Is a Private Kamakura Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from Europe. It was a very hot day, but we traveled entirely by public transportation. At Hasedera Temple, we saw the Great Buddha, the eleven-faced Kannon, and Benzaiten, and then headed to Kotokuin. The guests were amazed by the enormous Great Buddha. Although it was hot, some of the guests went inside the Great Buddha. Afterward, we returned to Kamakura and had a Japanese-style lunch, but since some of the small side dishes such as rolled omelet and yuba were left uneaten, a Western-style lunch might have been a better choice. On the train home, the guests saw the Shinkansen and took photos, saying they would like to visit Kyoto next time. This time we used the Green Car for the round trip, and it seemed they were able to relax comfortably.
