What Is a Private Day Tour of Kamakura and Yokohama Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Thanks to our email exchanges beforehand, in which I asked the guests to prepare a SUICA card and cash, using the various forms of public transportation went very smoothly. When I recommended the Green Car for the 25-minute ride from Yokohama to Kamakura, it was well received. The guests enjoyed their first experiences of the beauty of the temple and shrine gardens and the sheer size of the Great Buddha, and they listened attentively to my explanations about the different types of Buddhist statues and traditional architectural construction methods. At the same time, they seemed to enjoy things like drawing omikuji fortunes and offering candles in a spirit of entertainment. On days like today, the middle day of a three-day weekend, Kamakura is always extremely crowded. Since the lines at every ticket counter were very long, I waited in line by myself while the guests spent the time sightseeing nearby and taking photos. Originally, the plan was to finish the tour near Komachi Street, after which the guests would enjoy some souvenir shopping on their own, but perhaps because they became tired from the crowded final bus ride, as soon as we arrived at JR Kamakura Station the guests said they would head back to Yokohama. I gave them the train times and other information, and the tour ended at 14:50.

Tripadvisor review: Kamakura 8 hr Private Walking Tour with Licensed Guide from Tokyo
Mia, our guide, was a gem! She came to our hotel in Tokyo to guide us back to her hometown. She was so thoughtful and attended to our every need. Her communication was very thorough, starting with planning the whole day with us as soon as we booked. We cannot recommend this tour and Mia strongly enough!
