Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Hiroshima Castle and the Peace Memorial
Because it was raining, the guests used a taxi both to and from Hiroshima Castle. At Hiroshima Castle, I spoke in detail about the history of the castle, the Meiji Restoration, the subsequent history of Japan's wars, the Pacific War, and the atomic bombing. The guests listened while sharing what they knew from their own experiences, and the conversation was so lively that it never ran dry. While waiting to buy tickets at the memorial hall, we discussed earthquakes and nuclear power issues in Japan. At the museum, the guests took a deep interest in the individual stories of people who suffered from atomic bomb-related illnesses and asked me about my own connections, so I shared the story of relatives who had experienced the bombing. The guests expressed a strong interest in the feelings of those who suffered from the atomic bomb, out of a wish to prevent war in the future. In the morning it rained, so we were unable to take photos at Hiroshima Castle.

Hiroshima Tour with Yoshi
Yoshi was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond—meeting us at the station and making everything feel effortless and perfectly organized.
She is incredibly knowledgeable, especially about Hiroshima’s history. What made the experience even more special is that her perspective comes from someone who was born and raised there. Hearing the stories, details, and context directly from her added a level of depth and authenticity that you simply cannot get otherwise.
Beyond her knowledge, Yoshi is just a beautiful human being—kind, warm, and genuinely caring. Spending the day with her felt like a hug to the heart. She made us feel comfortable, cared for, and fully present in such a meaningful place.
She guided us through every site with perfect timing and intention, making sure we experienced everything without ever feeling rushed.
If you are visiting Hiroshima, I cannot recommend Yoshi enough. Seeing the city through her eyes is something truly unforgettable.
