Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group of four visiting from Europe and North America. The museum in the morning was quite crowded, but the guests viewed the exhibits with great interest and asked many questions. Some of the guests enjoyed photography, so we were able to take our time strolling slowly through the Peace Park. At their request to "see present-day Hiroshima," we walked along the main shopping street in the downtown area and continued to Shukkeien Garden. Throughout the tour, I received a wide range of questions, including about the history of Hiroshima before the atomic bombing. At their request to "eat okonomiyaki," I took them to a restaurant for a late lunch, where the tour came to an end. A notable stop on the tour was Shukkeien Garden, a historic Japanese landscape garden in Hiroshima whose name means "shrunken-scenery garden." Dating back to the early Edo period, it recreates various natural landscapes in miniature, with a central pond, winding paths, small bridges, and carefully arranged trees and rocks. It offers a peaceful contrast to the busy city center and is a popular spot to experience traditional Japanese garden design throughout the seasons.

Hello! I’m Ryosuke—please call me Leo.
I’d love to help you create great memories in Japan, especially around Tokyo and my hometown, Hiroshima.

I once traveled 44,000 km by bicycle across four continents (every continent except Australia!). There’s a chance I might even have passed through your hometown. Through that journey, I learned not only how wonderful travel can be, but also the things travelers should watch out for.

With that experience, I’m sure I can help make your trip smoother and more enjoyable.
Let’s have a great time exploring Japan together!
