What Is a Private Hiroshima Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
[Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour in Hiroshima for a group visiting from North America. The day before, the guests had already visited Miyajima and enjoyed okonomiyaki, making the most of their time in Hiroshima. As they were heading to Nara next, I explained the differences between the deer of Miyajima and the deer of Nara. I told them how, during wartime, the deer of Miyajima suddenly disappeared and deer were brought in from Nara. I also explained that because the deer of Miyajima had been cared for like pets, they remained gentle and friendly toward people even though they are wild.
Since there were young members in the group, I was mindful that they might grow tired of visiting the museum or listening to my explanations, but they listened quietly. One of the guests was very knowledgeable about the structure of the atomic bomb explosion and explained the exhibits to the rest of the group in front of the display. It was a valuable learning experience for me as well.
