- Hiroshima Station (11:00) → Travel by bus → Shukkeien Garden (11:10) → Travel by taxi → Okonomiyaki Lunch (12:30) → Peace Memorial Museum (13:20) → Peace Park (14:20) → Disband (15:00)
What Is a Private Hiroshima Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests came from Europe. They had already visited Tokyo, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka, and were planning to return home soon, and they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their trip in Japan. The weather was beautiful, and Shukkeien Garden had very few tourists, so it was pleasantly quiet and we could take our time enjoying the lovely scenery. The guests enjoyed observing the fish in the pond and found some crabs, taking photos of them. They also said that the okonomiyaki they tried for the first time was delicious. Although there were groups of students at the Peace Memorial Museum, we managed to see the exhibits. The guests were impressed by the beauty of the Peace Park and its axis of peace. We visited the Children's Peace Monument and the Atomic Bomb Dome before saying goodbye.

Hello. My name is Yoko Shimada. Families traveling with children are always welcome. I have more than 15 years of experience teaching English to children from toddlers to junior high school students, and I currently work as an online Japanese teacher, especially for children from around the world.
I am a licensed childcare worker, a certified junior high and high school English teacher in Japan, and a guide interpreter licensed by the Hiroshima Prefectural Government.
Because of my experience working with children, I always try to create tours that are warm, flexible, and comfortable for guests of all ages.
I enjoy creating interactive and memorable experiences through conversation, local stories, and small cultural activities such as origami.
I was born in Ehime, raised in Shimane and Hiroshima, and have lived in Hiroshima for more than 30 years. I love meeting people from different countries and learning about different cultures, so please tell me about your country too!

Great experience and fantastic private tour in Hiroshima. Our tour guide, Yoko, had prepared the tour well in advance and we have tailored the tour also considering our kids (13 and 15 years old). The tour lasted around 4 hours. My kids and us all really enjoyed the way Yoko explained the history of the city, the museum, the dome and the garden visit. Highly recommended !

Yoko is a very friendly, positive and knowledgeable guide who contributed to us having a fantastic experience, and got a good introduction to the history of the place. Yoko was well knowledgeable and catered to our son who was sea sick. She also was there for my little one who didn’t like some of the photos in Hiroshima library. We enjoyed her tour so very much and plan to book her next time we come back!
