Tour Itinerary
- Meet at Ujina Port at 10:00 → Move to Hiroshima Castle by taxi → Hiroshima Castle and the site of the Imperial Headquarters from 10:40 → Walk to Shukkeien Garden → Stroll through Shukkeien Garden from 11:10 → Walk to Hondori → Lunch at the okonomiyaki restaurant Uzushio from 12:00 → Peace Memorial Park from 13:10 → Disperse in front of the museum at 14:00
Title: What Is a Private History Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from Oceania who appeared to have a strong interest in history. I linked the guiding at the former Imperial General Headquarters site and the Atomic Bomb Dome, exploring them under the theme of "Hiroshima as a Military City." Since they enjoyed seeing nature and getting exercise, we walked from Shukkeien Garden to Hondori and had lunch there. As Hiroshima was the only cruise port stop where they had arranged a guide, I arranged the content to focus mainly on history and reconstruction, and tried guiding in chronological order. Through trial and error, I received many words of praise, which was a great relief.

Hayato was a great tour guide. My family and I loved our time in Hiroshima and Miyajima with him. He took us to a local cuisine for lunch after the peace memorial and before heading to Miyajima. He has a lot of knowledge of the area and was also very communicative. My children also loved him. We ended up spending more time than planned and he was so gracious to stay with us extra time and make sure we had the best time while we were here. I would highly recommend booking with Hayato. We have been in Japan for 2 weeks and this was our best day we had!
