What Is a Private Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
I guided the group visiting from Oceania. As they had a strong interest in the atomic bomb, I planned an itinerary centered on the Peace Memorial Park. On the day, I met the guests at the Hiroshima Station platform and explained the itinerary. However, due to a forecast of heavy snow, the bullet train departure time was changed from around 8:00 p.m. to around 3:00 p.m., so we reorganized the schedule. At the museum, one of the guests spent a long time in the first exhibition room and, upon leaving, appeared deeply moved and shed tears. At that moment, I felt it was more important to remain quietly present rather than to say anything.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.

My wife & I spent a fabulous day with Yuji visiting Miyajima & Hiroshima.. From his greeting to us on our arrival at Hiroshima station to saying good-bye at the same location 8 hours later, he gave us wonderful perspectives of both locations as well as sharing his knowledge of the sights we saw.

Incredible Experience
We had an incredible experience visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima for the first time. Our tour guide, Yuji, made the experience one we will never forget. From start to finish the trip was thoroughly enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable explaining meaning, symbolism, answering questions and went above and beyond to give us the best experience. Yuji really tailored the tour to things we found interesting and made transport with trains and the ferry very easy to navigate- as we did a day trip from Osaka. My husband and I were very fortunate to have Yuji as our guide. Highly recommend this private tour if you are considering Hiroshima and Miyajima!
