Tour Itinerary
- Hotel (7:00) → Travel by taxi → Hiroshima Station (7:20) → Travel by JR and ferry → Miyajima (8:20) → Itsukushima Shrine (8:40) → Daisho-in Temple (9:20) → Omotesando Shopping Street (10:00) → Travel by ferry, JR, and taxi → Peace Memorial Museum (12:30) → Peace Park (13:30) → Disband (14:20)
What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group of three visiting from North America. They mentioned that the day before they had gone to Nagasaki and visited a memorial museum. Because we started early in the morning, we were able to enter Itsukushima Shrine smoothly while it was still uncrowded, and the guests very much enjoyed taking photos. On Omotesando Street, they enjoyed shopping for items such as chopsticks and rice scoops, as well as sampling street food. The memorial museum was also quiet and easy to enter at first, but it grew crowded partway through, so we focused on the key exhibits. It was memorable how deeply one of the guests was moved, remaining tearful throughout. We walked around the Peace Park, and since there was a set time for the bullet train to Kyoto, we finished a little early, called a taxi to Hiroshima Station, and said our goodbyes.

Hello. My name is Yoko Shimada. Families traveling with children are always welcome. I have more than 15 years of experience teaching English to children from toddlers to junior high school students, and I currently work as an online Japanese teacher, especially for children from around the world.
I am a licensed childcare worker, a certified junior high and high school English teacher in Japan, and a guide interpreter licensed by the Hiroshima Prefectural Government.
Because of my experience working with children, I always try to create tours that are warm, flexible, and comfortable for guests of all ages.
I enjoy creating interactive and memorable experiences through conversation, local stories, and small cultural activities such as origami.
I was born in Ehime, raised in Shimane and Hiroshima, and have lived in Hiroshima for more than 30 years. I love meeting people from different countries and learning about different cultures, so please tell me about your country too!

Great Hiroshima tour with Yoko
Great experience and fantastic private tour in Hiroshima. Our tour guide, Yoko, had prepared the tour well in advance and we have tailored the tour also considering our kids (13 and 15 years old). The tour lasted around 4 hours. My kids and us all really enjoyed the way Yoko explained the history of the city, the museum, the dome and the garden visit. Highly recommended !

Yoko is a very friendly, positive and knowledgeable guide who contributed to us having a fantastic experience, and got a good introduction to the history of the place. Yoko was well knowledgeable and catered to our son who was sea sick. She also was there for my little one who didn’t like some of the photos in Hiroshima library. We enjoyed her tour so very much and plan to book her next time we come back!
