Travel between the sites was by public transport: Hiroshima Station to Genbaku Dome-mae by train (240JPY); Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park to Miyajima (1,200JPY); Miyajimaguchi to Hiroshima by train (420JPY). Across 3 sections the fare came to 2,010JPY per person.
What Is a Private Day Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
I guided a group visiting from North America. The tour had originally been scheduled for a different day, but because their bullet train tickets were for another day, the schedule was changed at short notice and the tour took place that day. At the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, the guests listened attentively to the explanations. During lunch, they shared stories about their daily lives. Afterwards, we folded paper cranes together. In the photo we can see some of the group, while the paper cranes were made by other members of the group. On Miyajima, the group seemed very interested in the shrine and temple, listening closely to the explanations and taking many photos. Although one of the guests mentioned not being very fond of being photographed, we were able to take a group photo of all of them in front of the Great Torii Gate, which was wonderful.

Powerful day of one of the worst tragedies of our world. Important to visit and reminds us that peace is so important.
Lisa was an excellent tour guide, patient and kind, very informative, we traveled some mass transit and she really helped us navigate as visitors.
I appreciate her understanding of culture and temple etiquette. She was personable and made the day exceptional.

Lisa Y. Did an amazing job. We had good communication prior to trip and she customized the tour to fit our interests. The day of she provided a detailed and thorough tour! The food recommendations were great as well. Lunch was amazing and we even stopped for drinks and some amazing maple leaf pancakes.
We would highly recommend this tour and Lisa!!

We had a fantastic day with our local guide Lisa. The tour was well thought out and all transfers and destinations were smooth and enjoyable. Lisa gave us an amazing experience and we would highly recommend this tour to have a full overview of Hiroshima. We enjoyed beautiful fresh oysters and Okonomiyaki in a local setting.
