Tour Itinerary
- Ujina Port (9:30) → Travel by taxi → Hiroshima Port (9:40) Travel by high-speed boat (10:25) → Miyajima (10:57) → Itsukushima Shrine (11:30) → Omotesando Shopping Street (12:00) (Lunch & Shopping) 13:00 → Travel by JR Ferry + JR (Miyajimaguchi – Yokogawa) + Taxi → Peace Park (15:00) (Atomic Bomb Dome, Children's Peace Monument, Cenotaph, etc.) → Peace Memorial Museum → Call a taxi to the port and disband (16:00)
What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from Africa. They were very kind and were thoroughly enjoying their travels in Japan. Although it was during a major holiday period, perhaps because of the rain, we were able to enter Itsukushima Shrine smoothly without any wait. The guests enjoyed photography very much and took many pictures of the various scenic views of Miyajima. In the afternoon the rain grew heavier, so I focused the walk within Peace Memorial Park on the Atomic Bomb Dome, the Children's Peace Monument, and the memorial cenotaph. Since entry to the Peace Memorial Museum was being restricted and there was a very long line, I explained that the wait would be considerable, and the guests said they preferred to skip the museum and return to the cruise ship. As the rain became even more intense, we moved to a point where I could call a taxi, called one for them, and parted ways a little earlier than the scheduled end time. I felt very sorry that I was unable to take them to the museum.

Hello. My name is Yoko Shimada. Families traveling with children are always welcome. I have more than 15 years of experience teaching English to children from toddlers to junior high school students, and I currently work as an online Japanese teacher, especially for children from around the world.
I am a licensed childcare worker, a certified junior high and high school English teacher in Japan, and a guide interpreter licensed by the Hiroshima Prefectural Government.
Because of my experience working with children, I always try to create tours that are warm, flexible, and comfortable for guests of all ages.
I enjoy creating interactive and memorable experiences through conversation, local stories, and small cultural activities such as origami.
I was born in Ehime, raised in Shimane and Hiroshima, and have lived in Hiroshima for more than 30 years. I love meeting people from different countries and learning about different cultures, so please tell me about your country too!

Yoko was amazing. She is very kind and knowledgeable. She was sure to be in touch with us after we booked the tour to find out what areas we were interested in, and if there was anything we had high on our list to see.
Although all areas are significant, she makes sure to point out key things that we should be sure to see. We had a lot of laughs and truly enjoyed our day with Yoko. She is also a good photographer.
We highly recommend if you are in Hiroshima you book a tour with Yoko!!

Great Hiroshima tour with Yoko
Great experience and fantastic private tour in Hiroshima. Our tour guide, Yoko, had prepared the tour well in advance and we have tailored the tour also considering our kids (13 and 15 years old). The tour lasted around 4 hours. My kids and us all really enjoyed the way Yoko explained the history of the city, the museum, the dome and the garden visit. Highly recommended !
