- 10:00 Meet at the Hilton→10:30 Travel by bus to Hiroshima Station→10:45 Take the Maple-loop to Hiroshima Castle→Visit the castle keep and the Imperial General Headquarters ruins→11:30 Walk to Shukkeien Garden and stroll around→12:30 Walk to Hiroshima Station→12:45 Travel to Miyajima by JR and ferry→14:00 Lunch at okonomiyaki restaurant "Kuwaranka"→15:30 Stroll around Itsukushima Shrine and Daisho-in Temple→16:50 Travel by ferry and streetcar→18:00 Disband at Hiroden Hatchobori Station
Title: What's a Private Hiroshima History Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from Europe. They had studied the history surrounding World War II in advance and had a very deep understanding of the situation at that time. During transit, they kindly taught me British English pronunciation, and the tour proceeded in a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Since the tour course covered the period from the construction of Hiroshima Castle through wartime and postwar reconstruction, I consciously structured my storytelling to gradually build in energy, so that the guests could ultimately come away with a positive impression of Hiroshima. When I explained that okonomiyaki is a dish with roots in the postwar reconstruction, the guests expressed surprise, saying, "We didn't know that — so that's why it's so beloved by the locals." They seemed very satisfied, which was a relief to me as well.

Hayato was a great tour guide. My family and I loved our time in Hiroshima and Miyajima with him. He took us to a local cuisine for lunch after the peace memorial and before heading to Miyajima. He has a lot of knowledge of the area and was also very communicative. My children also loved him. We ended up spending more time than planned and he was so gracious to stay with us extra time and make sure we had the best time while we were here. I would highly recommend booking with Hayato. We have been in Japan for 2 weeks and this was our best day we had!
