Tour Itinerary
- 7:00 NORWEGIAN SPIRIT arrives at port
- 8:00 Meet at cruise terminal (Ujina Foreign Trade Wharf (Pier No. 5))
- Move to Peace Memorial Park by taxi (about 15 minutes/about 2500 yen)
- 8:30-11:00 Stroll around Peace Memorial Park (Atomic Bomb Dome, Children's Peace Monument, Cenotaph, etc.) & visit Peace Memorial Museum (admission fee 100 yen/person) Orizuru Tower
- 11:10-11:55 Move to Miyajima by World Heritage Sea Route (high-speed boat) (about 45 minutes/2500 yen (including Miyajima visitor tax/person)
- 12:00-12:40
- Eat while walking along Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street to Daishoin Temple
- 12:40-14:00 Itsukushima Shrine
- 13:20-14:00 Stroll around Itsukushima Shrine
- 14:00-14:30 Great Torii Gate
- 14:30-15:00 Move to pier & purchase tickets
- 15:00 -15:22 Setouchi Sea Line (move by speed boat (2300 yen/person)
- Move to cruise terminal by taxi
- (about 7 minutes/about 1000 yen)
- Around 16:00 Drop off at cruise terminal
What Is a Private Hiroshima and Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
After the Peace Memorial Park, I guided the group to the Orizuru Tower, where the weather was clear and the view was excellent, which they were delighted with. In Miyajima, a local shrine festival happened to be taking place, so the guests enjoyed drinking sacred sake and experiencing a lion dance. The guests were considering what souvenirs to buy and were looking for T-shirts with Japanese writing on them, so I used a translation app to explain what the text meant. In the end, they did not find a T-shirt they liked and instead purchased an origami set. When I gave them some origami paper I had with me, they were very pleased.

Emotional and confronting
Moving experience with amazing guide Kyoko. Kyoko met us at the cruise terminal and took us to the Peace Museum, Dome, and Peace Park. We then went to Mijama Island and back to cruise port. We were a group of four senior citizens and Kyoko was so kind and caring and made sure we made it back to the port safely. Kyoko was very informative and taught us so much about Japan. We even had a picnic (Hamani) under the cherry blossom trees with Kyoko. We had a very memorable day in Hiroshima which has left lasting impressions on us.
We would highly recommend this tour and our amazing guide Kyoko.
